THE SONG OF THE PINE TREE FAIRY

A tall, tall tree is the Pine tree, With its trunk of bright red-brown- The red of the merry squirrels Who go scampering up and down.

There are cones on the tall, tall Pine tree, With its needles sharp and green; Small seeds in the cones are hidden, And they ripen there unseen.

The elves play games with the squirrels At the top of the tall, tall tree, Throwing cones for the squirrels to nibble- I wish I were there to see!

The Pine Tree Fairy is a Flower Fairy of Winter. Constructed of the finest all wool felt, he will stand 11.5 inches tall and will be fully jointed at his shoulders, hips and neck. The Pine Tree Fairy will feature a sculptural molded body and limbs. His hands will be sewn with individual fingers and his magnificent fairy wings will be sewn, molded, and hand painted from fine silk organza for a simmering, iridescent effect.

The Pine Tree Fairy will be designed and costumed according to the original Cicely Mary Barker illustrations. He will be costumed in felt shorts, a long-sleeved belted tunic-style shirt with laced closure and a molded, delicately hand painted felt pine cone headress. For warmth, he will wear custom-dyed cotton tights and elfin slippers on his feet. The Winter Flower Fairy will come holding a detailed, realistic pine cone made of molded, hand painted felt.
